Principal’s Message

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences for grades 1-8 are being held this Thursday, Nov. 10 from 12:30-4:30 pm, with school letting out at 12:00. If you have not already signed up with your child’s teacher, please do so early in the week. In addition to talking to your teacher about your child’s progress, the teachers from grades 1-5 will be giving out the first Progress Report and the grades 6-8 teachers will be able to go over the second interim report with you. Childcare will be provided for parents during their conferences at no cost. Parents are reminded that if children are left here at 12:00 that they will either need to send a lunch with their child or order one from Ki’s. Parents can begin to sign up for conference times at their child’s classroom beginning next week. If you are unable to come on Nov. 10, please see your child’s teacher to set up another date to go over your child’s progress.

We hope to see you all at our School Orientations this Sunday, Nov. 6. These orientations explain our programs from Kindergarten on through Lower and Middle levels. 1:00 PM - Entering Grades K - 5 next year. 3:00 PM - Entering Grades 6 - 9 next year. Presentations and tours will follow the Orientations. Childcare will be provided.

Eighth Grade Food Drive

Mr. Byrum’s 8th grade Character class is very pleased to announce that over 290 pounds of food was donated to the North County Food Bank as a result of their Food Drive, which is enough to provide meals for more than 233 people. This is a great way for kids to learn that they can make a difference in the outside world. The 8th grade students wanted me to pass on their thanks to all the parents and students who donated food to the drive.

Thanks,

— Mr. Lehmunn

Encinitas Blvd. Director Message

Hopefully, everyone is fully recovered from our big Halloween event, recharged and ready for more fun! Our next big event will be our Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 23. We will need ingredients for the stew and parent volunteers to help set-up, serve, and clean up. Limit of two volunteers per class please. This is a child-only event! Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet on the parent bulletin board in your child’s classroom for items to bring to the event.

Fingerprint Safety Program

The fingerprint safety program, Permanent Impressions, will be here November 7 & 9. It is not too late to take part in this program.

November 11, Veteran’s Day

The school will be closed on Friday, November 11 for Veteran’s Day. We will also be closed on November 24 & 25 to observe Thanksgiving Day. Thank you for all your support and positive energy!

Thanks,

— Ms. Safarik
