« Middle School - Engineering Elective - Building Rockets »

Middle School students created rockets from construction paper and duct tape in their Engineering elective class last week, to better understand Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion and how it applies to rocket designs. After creating their rockets, students launched them by jumping on a 2-liter soda bottle which forcefully pushed air through a PVC pipe apparatus to launch the rocket. After launching their first rocket, students revised the design of their rocket’s fins and weight to see how it would affect the aerodynamic properties of their rocket.
