International or Non-Resident Students Only

Welcome,
International, non-resident students are invited to participate in Summer Campz Kids Love! while they are visiting the United States. Variety Campz, Rad Campz, and Odyssey Campz are all ideal settings for international students to immerse themselves in a unique American language and cultural experience.

Students typically travel with their families, or visit the U.S. with groups coordinated by international travel agencies or educational programs that arrange housing and transportation, and serve as a liaison with Campz staff members. There is a 2-week minimum for international students to participate in a Campz program.

Following are program parameters and prices for international, non-resident students:

  • Variety Campz Students entering K or 1st grade
    Weekly rate: $385
  • Rad Campz Students entering 2nd or 3rd grade
    Weekly rate: $420
  • Odyssey Campz Students entering 4th to 8th grade
    Weekly rate: $450

All international or non-resident enrollments subject to a 1-time Registration Fee of $200 (per student, per season).

Sibling discounts are available for 2nd and subsequent family members that attend Campz, but no other discount programs apply to International students. (Maximum discount pricing for VC = $345 per week, RC= $380, OC = $405)

Before & After Camp Care charges are not included in the pricing above. BACC charges will be billed separately and calculated at either $12.50 per hour a la carte, or $85 for unlimited time per week.

Let’s face it, what’s the point of summer anyways? School’s out, and kids want to have the time of their lives, right? Odyssey Campz has discovered a winning formula that will take campers to a new level of fun and engagement this summer!

The formula is simple:
Excited Campers + Choosing Their Own Adventures
= Summertime FUN

Weekly rate $375*
($340 when pre-paid by March 31, 2017)
($355 when pre-paid by May 31, 2017)

Choices Get Everyone Engaged

Yes, we’ve decided to continue letting campers choose their own adventures each week during Odyssey Campz! Why? Because over the years we’ve learned that participation in the planning process gets everyone engaged in the action.

Aquatic & Land-Based Adventures

We alternate each week between Aquatic and Land-Based Adventures. This means that during “All Out Aquatic Adventure Weeks” students will be able to choose whether we go to the beach, go paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, tide-pooling, or even visit places like SeaWorld, the Stephen Birch Aquarium, or the Dana Point Ocean Institute.

During our “Expeditions Galore Adventure Weeks” campers make the call for land-based excursions! Options might include a visit to Solid Rock Gym for a day of rock climbing, or Get Air, zip lining, orienteering, wildlife tracking, skateboarding, or even a trip to a favorite theme park!

See “Campz at a Glance” on pages 12 & 13 of the Summer Campz Catalog (pdf) to get specific dates for Aquatic and Land-Based Adventure weeks.

Odyssey Campz Adventures Are Unique & FUN!

While we’re adventuring in and around San Diego County, or maybe beyond, we’ll also be infusing leadership, team building, and confidence boosting skills that campers will take with them for the rest of their lives. We’ll also be targeting learning and S.T.E.A.M.* components, honing outdoor and survival skills, and keeping bodies and brains engaged all summer long!

So, we’re challenging 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to come and join Odyssey Campz this summer for action-filled trips that they get to choose, where their brains will be turned on with hands-on discovery, and their bodies and minds will be pushed to new limits!

There is not another camp out there that is willing or able to go above and beyond to give campers the summer of their dreams…so, make this summer an Odyssey Campz summer!

Camp Rockz

Week 1: July 10 to July 14Week 2: July 17 to July 21

“CampRockz” Weeks will give campers a chance to explore geology, paleontology, and physical sciences with opportunities to learn, create, and just have fun with rocks, fossils, and the mysterious forces that act on our rocky planet.

Some of the field trips being considered for the two-week session are rock climbing and trampolining (defying gravity), the Reuben Fleet Science Center, panning for gold in Old Town San Diego or Julian, the Discovery Cube in Orange County (which has an amazing dinosaur activity area), the San Diego Archaeological Center, and Stone Stories in Escondido. We’ll also make our own fossil casts with items we collect on a mini hike in the on-site Conservation Area.

Wet n’ Wild

Week 3: July 24 to July 28Week 4: July 31 to August 4

“Wet n’ Wild” Weeks will provide campers with opportunities to explore the world of water, and the life that inhabits it.

In addition to exciting off-site trips, special on-site presentations will bring the ocean and its creatures to us. Some of the trips being considered are the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, Birch Aquarium, the tide pools at La Jolla Shores, the Living Coast Discovery Center, Sea World, Aquatica, Legoland, or Wave Water Park, and the Alga Norte Community Pool. Campers will create their own on-site classroom “aquarium” by making models of invertebrates vertebrates, as well as plants and animals that live in the sea.

Got Game?

Week 5: August 7 to August 11Week 6: August 14 to August 18

“Got Game?” Weeks will give campers the chance to have lots of fun learning to play some games they may never have played, and some games that they already know and love.

During Week 6, campers will enjoy a trip to Petco Park to watch the Padres play the Minnesota Twins. Some of the other field trips under consideration are Laser Tag, Bowling, Pelly’s Miniature Golf, K1 Speed, Xtreme Fun’s obstacle course at San Dieguito Park, and the Children’s Museum and Waterfront Park. There will be outdoor games like Frisbee golf, soccer, kick ball, Gaga Ball, Bocci Ball, etc., as well as indoor activities such as board games, LEGO building, and MineCraft in the Computer Lab.
