Campz are week-long, action-packed, age-appropriate, teacher-supervised, themed, engaging summer programs filled with fun, discovery, and adventure.

Campz summer session will run for five consecutive weeks, beginning July 8th and ending August 9th.

Kindergarten & 1st Grades

Summer fun for children entering Kindergarten or first grade in fall 2024 (Must be 5 years old prior to the start of a week of Variety Campz in which they are participating). Campers enjoy a wide array of academic, artistic, and outdoor enrichment activities every day of the week, including on-site water slides and water play every afternoon.

Each week includes an “on-site field trip” that accentuates the weekly theme.

The Ocean Is Alive! — Part 1

Week 1: July 8 to July 12

The ocean is the earth’s largest biome, filled with fathomless opportunities to explore its beauty, power, and creatures. Each day of Week 1, campers will be immersed in sea-related activities and projects during their trips to the Variety Campz Theme & Art Room, Learning Center, and Outdoor Adventure Zone where they will be inspired by stories, and engaged in play and creative expression.

Dinosaurs & Reptiles Come Alive!

Week 2: July 15 to July 19

Dinosaurs and reptiles become the springboard for art, learning and play-based adventures during Week 2 of Variety Campz. Every day, campers will dig deep into the fossil record in search of clues about how dinosaurs looked and lived. In addition, they will scale mountains of fun-facts about modern reptiles, and even meet some in person, learning about the unique role they play in nature as well as their body parts from tongue to tail.

Week 1: July 22 to July 26

Science is Fascinating & Fun!

Week 4: July 29 to August 2

Looking at nature through the eyes of a scientist, opens a world of opportunities for wonder and discovery. Variety Campers become nature spies during Week 3, learning about things great and small as they explore the natural world through observation and experimentation. Special guest scientists and daily on-site experiments ensure that this week will be filled with an element of excitement!

The Aloha Spirit Lives!

Week 5: August 5 to August 9

Variety Campers will travel to a tropical paradise in their art, learning, and play-based adventures during our 5th and final week of camp. Campers will be literally and figuratively swimming with luaus and leis, tropical foods, colorful plants, and beautiful land and sea-based creatures during this fun-filled week.

2nd & 3rd Grades

Summer discovery awaits students entering 2nd or 3rd grade in the fall. Students enjoy two field trips each week that take campers off campus (one for learning and one just for fun). In addition to awesome, theme-related experiments and activities, each week will include fun cooking challenges, as well as music and movement activities, including Pilates, yoga, and dance to complement the weekly theme.

RadCampz weeks wrap-up every Friday with either a beach trip, or a “Splash Day” on our own 27’ high Hurricane Water Slide.

Calling All Engineers & Crafty Innovators!

Week 1: July 8 to July 12
Welcome to Week 1 of RadCampz, which will focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). We will design and create things in our very own Makers Space. Campers will have a myriad of games to play and puzzles to solve and things to build. We let creativity rule with LEGO challenges and fun tasks to problem solve, before bringing the resulting solutions to life. Some of the possible field trips include: The Ruben H. Fleet Science Center, The Automotive Museum, The Discovery Cube, and Pennypickle’s Workshop. On Friday, campers will glide into the weekend on our 19 foot high “Rainsforest Rapids” and 27 foot high “Hurricane” water slides!

Waves of Wonder

Week 2: July 15 to July 19

Welcome aboard Week 2 of RadCampz. This week campers will focus on amazing Marine Life, including vertebrates and invertebrates, as they explore the world’s numerous ocean habitats. Then they will embark on two awesome field trips to “wet their fins” and learn about all things Aquatic. On Tuesday they will cool off at the Alga Norte Swim Center, and on Thursday they will venture to Sea World. On Wednesday and Friday, campers will glide and splash on, not one, but two of our on-campus, super fun water slides.

Surf & Safari

Week 3: July 22 to July 26

Welcome to Week 3 of RadCampz, focused on animals of all kinds … but mostly carnivores. Campers will enjoy activities, crafts, and experiments on the wild side. We will journey on two exciting field trips: On Tuesday, we’ll splash down awesome water slides and then get tubular on the surf simulator at The Wave waterpark. On Thursday, it’s off to see Lions and Tigers and bears OH MY! at the San Diego Safari Park. On Friday, campers will glide into the weekend on our 27 feet high “Hurricane” and 17′ “Rainforest Rapids” water slides.

Heroes, Legends, & Mythical Marvels

Week 4: July 29 to August 2

Welcome to Week 4 of RadCampz, focused on all things fantastic and magical! We’ll have fun with our favorite comic book heroes, wondrous wizards, and other favorite fictional characters from books and movies. Field trips contemplated for Tuesday and Thursday include: The San Diego Maritime Museum to peer into the lives of pirates and one of the newest animated movies. On Wednesday and Friday campers will glide on our thrilling Hurricane and Rainforest Rapid water slides.

Astro Aviators & Galactic Explorers

Week 5: August 5 to August 9

During Week 5, Earthlings in RadCampz will focus on airplanes, rockets, and all things Space. They will lift-off into activities, crafts, and experiments that are out of this world. This week includes two exciting field trips: The San Diego Air and Space Museum or perhaps the Discovery Cube, then off to become “weightless” at Sky Zone or Alga Norte Swim center. On Wednesday and Friday, campers will slip and slide on our 27 feet high “Hurricane” and 17′ Rainforest Rapids water slides.

Odyssey Campz

4th, 5th, 6th & 7th Grades

Week-long Odyssey Campz summer adventures are designed to enrich the natural curiosity of students entering 4th through 7th grade in the fall.

Odyssey campers will enjoy themed weeks that utilize both on-site and off-site resources to blend non-stop, action-packed, hands-on learning experiences with loads of fun.

Odyssey Campz weeks wrap-up every Friday with water adventures either off-campus at a local beach, or on-campus using our own 19′ and 27′ high inflatable water slides.

Journey of the Padawans

Week 1: July 8 through July 12

Campers will go “techno crazy” this week as they focus on the history of technology and the science behind Star Wars. They will engage in hands-on research and creative building projects. Students also learn to innovate and collaborate, as they customize our famous RC battle bots, which get put to the test in an epic tournament at the end of the week that pits the Empire against the Rebellion!

Oceanic Endeavors

Week 2: July 15 through July 19

Calling all kids who LOVE the Ocean! During this wet ‘n wild week, campers will focus on the diversity and importance of Earth’s oceans. Hands-on science experiments and exploration will inspire students to study the ocean from a variety of perspectives: Marine Biology, Marine Geology, Marine Chemistry, and Physical Oceanography. Excursions will include trips to local beaches and an array of water-themed venues. On-campus fun will include time on our 27’ Hurricane water slide, and a surprise water play competition!

Feelin’ Our Atmosphere

Week 3: July 22 though July 26

Campers will explore what’s beneath and beyond Earth’s atmosphere as they learn about the history of flight and the forces that make it possible. Campers will learn about the vital gases that make up our atmosphere and universe. They’ll be engaged in explorations of our solar system, the Milky Way Galaxy, and the expanded universe. They’ll even design, build and launch rockets that can fly as high as 500′ in the air! On-campus activities and competitions, and hopefully one or two off-campus excursions to flight and space-related venues, will round out a week that will take your high flier out of this world.

Globe-Trotting

Week 4: July 29 through August 2

Campers will have a blast this week integrating food and art! Campers will begin the week learning a bit about nutrition and healthy eating choices, and make their own culinary delights throughout the week. We will “travel” around the world exploring different tastes and cuisines and as we make stops on each continent, Campers will also engage in different styles of art and expression. To top it off, a surprise field trip or two promises to make this a very tasty, creative, and exciting week!.

You Midas Well Win Gold

Week 5: August 5 through August 9

Campers will feel the ‘thrill of victory and the agony of defeat’ as they are immersed in the grit and drama of the Summer Olympic Games. This is the week campers get to prove their mettle as they vie for medals in a series of challenging competitive endeavors known as the Odyssey Olympics. They’ll also practice preparing an array of nutritious body-boosting foods and drinks, as they are inspired to condition their bodies inside and out. A sports-themed field trip will round-out this adrenaline-filled week.
