Kindergarten students have been learning about whales this month, as part of their research on mammals. To help the students understand the comparative length of the different whale species, the students used string to measure out the length of the different whales last week. They started with the common dolphin (9 feet long), followed by the killer whale (30 feet long), humpback whale (40 feet long), gray whale (45 feet long), sperm whale (60 feet long), and the blue whale (100 feet long).
