3rd Grade – In-Depth Studies of Africa

Nov 19 / 2014

The 3rd Grade classes are conducting in-depth research on the continent of Africa this year. Mrs. Livingston’s 3rd Grade class has been researching how African people live, including the types of dwellings they live in. Students wrote paragraphs about African houses based on their research, and then they created detailed models of round African houses with straw roofs to show what the houses look like. The students also created detailed relief maps of Africa. Ms. Mulligan’s 3rd Grade class is displaying an impressive variety of work they’ve completed on their bulletin board, including research papers on African countries, African flag posters, and African maps detailing specific geographical features. The students also created a colorful variety of African mask artwork.
