3rd Grade – Practicing 6+1 Writing Traits

Feb 04 / 2015

Ms. Mulligan’s 3rd Grade class has been practicing their 6+1 Traits of Good Writing, which include Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Conventions, and Presentation. Ms. Mulligan supplies the students with a prompt to get them started, and then the students use the writing traits to write a paragraph and create artwork to accompany their paragraph. The work currently on display in their classroom starts with the prompt “If I could have any pet…”. Some of the pets that students wrote about included a dragon, a panda, a unipeg (a combination of a unicorn and pegasus), a turtle, a python, and many more.
