Ms. Reeves 4th Grade students worked in teams to uncover the mysteries of Advanced Numeration this week. The mathematical concepts the students used to solve the numeration problems included expanded notation, greater and less than, converting a number from words to numerical format, standard notation, and place value. This work helped the students review concepts they have already learned, as well as expand to a deeper level of understanding when they had to resolve problems that were presented in a different format than they had seen before.
