In their Science Lab on Thursday, 5th Grade students created models of Beryllium Atoms using balloons, pipe cleaners, and beads. The balloon represented the atom structure, with 4 Proton beads and 5 Neutron beads in the Nucleus inside the balloon. The 4 pipe cleaners were used to show the much smaller Electron beads on the outside of the atom. The students also completed a worksheet to learn more about Atoms and Elements.
