Inspired by the theme for this year’s Encinitas Holiday Parade — “Peace by the Pacific” — Encinitas Country Day School and Polestar Performing Arts Academy jointly created visual and performing arts pageantry that depicted cranes and doves as symbols of peace in the East and West. Their combined entry was a tribute to the bonds of friendship established in 1988 between the sister cities of Encinitas, USA and Amakusa, Japan. ECDS was also founded in 1988.
