This week, the ECDS library and a Middle School classroom were the stage for creation of a :90 second segment that aired Thursday, Sept. 20th on the local CBS-TV affiliate’s nightly news show. ECDS Middle School Spanish teacher, Jonathon Valverde, was interviewed by CBS News reporter Anna Laurel, telling how he grew up in a Latino family, but did not learn to speak Spanish at home. The story of how he connected to his Spanish-speaking roots through music and ultimately became an accomplished singer/performer and Spanish language teacher is compelling, and can be viewed on YouTube using the link below:
