At the January First Friday Assembly last week, 2nd Grade students gave a presentation on the character attribute of “Courage”. The students recited a dramatic choral reading from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech, explaining courage by describing the events of the Civil Rights movement. They sang the song “Stand Up” which asked the audience to stand up and use their voice to make a change in the world. Parents and students in the audience applauded their touching performance enthusiastically. Mr. Peter Carmichael, ECDS Science Teacher, also presented all of the ECDS Science Fair winners with their medals and trophies at the Assembly.
