On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, it is a long-standing tradition for students at ECDS to enjoy a mini-Thanksgiving feast at school. Students from all grade levels help prepare food for their respective feasts and create seasonal craft projects. Older students assist teachers and younger students with set-up and food service. Acts of service that benefit others provide opportunities for students to put into action the character traits they have studied – kindness, generosity, perseverance, etc. When “big kids help little kids,” students at all grade levels get a chance to experience the profound connection between service and gratitude.
