Students in many classes had Hanukkah celebrations on the first day of Hanukkah in December. Parents who celebrate Hanukkah came in to their children’s classes to explain the history and traditions of the holiday to the students. Students celebrated with their classmates by lighting menorahs, playing the Dreidel game, and eating traditional Hanukkah food including potato latkes.
