The Kindergarten classes went on a Field Trip to the Natural History Museum in Balboa Park last Friday. In their “Cetacean Sensation” workshop, the Kindergarten students learned all about whales at different exhibit stations, including whale chatter, comparing their teeth to whale teeth, and putting their hands in “blubber” to feel how it insulates and protects whales from icy cold waters. One of the students’ favorite stations a demonstration of whale blubber insulation, where the children got to feel how blubber insulates and protects whales from cold waters.
