Thanksgiving Feasts at the Encinitas Blvd. Campus

Dec 03 / 2014

Last week’s Thanksgiving Feast was a warm, loving, and peaceful event in which the children experienced a bit of our American tradition by taking a moment to give thanks for all that we have. It all started the week before Thanksgiving with the preparation of a Friendship Stew, the creation of unique and individual Native American and Pilgrim hats, and an abundance of stories and art revolving around the first Thanksgiving. On Tuesday, the day of the feast, parent volunteers donated pies, juice, and corn muffins to accompany the stew, and then prepared the tables for the children. The children were called to the table and led in a prayer by a Native American and a Pilgrim. Then they got to eat the much anticipated Friendship Stew! All in all, it was a special and fantastic day.
