Nov 11 / 2011

Take your family to dinner at the PTO Dine-Out event at Souplantation on Thursday 11/17, and be sure to bring your flyer. Everyone from both campuses is invited to the PTO Family Movie Night on Friday 11/18, and students in grades 5-8 can enjoy their own movies at the Middle School Movie Night . Also, don’t forget that ECDS Early Re-Enrollment ends on Friday 11/18.

Principal’s Message

This year really seems to be flying by, as it is already time for Parent Teacher Conferences. It was great to see so many parents meeting with our teachers and finding out how their children were doing in all their classes. Parents of grade 7 & 8 students should be sure to check your parent mailboxes in the office, because I placed a copy of your student’s second Interim Report in all the boxes on Wednesday for you to go over with your child. As always, if you were unable to meet with your teacher, please talk to your child’s teacher about arranging a meeting either before or after school.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving week is fast approaching. Both ECDS campuses will be doing the annual Thanksgiving Feasts on Wednesday, November 23. Please check with your child’s teacher to ask about donating food items for the feast, or in the case of Preschool and Kindergarten parents, how you can help volunteer that day.

Have a great long weekend, and we will see you next Friday at the PTO Family Movie Night!

Thanks, — Mr. Lehmunn

Encinitas Blvd. Director Message

We are looking forward to our next school event which will be our annual Thanksgiving Feast. The children will be preparing a friendship stew in each 3-5 year-old classroom. Please check with your child’s teacher for the sign-up sheet for ingredients to bring a few days before the event. There is also a sign-up sheet for parent volunteers and extra food items by the front entrance near the office, and we’ll need corn bread, pies, and juice. This is a child-only school event, and parents who sign up for volunteering are welcome. There is a limited amount of volunteers needed, so come in and sign up if you are interested in helping out on Wednesday, November 23 between 9:15 and Noon. We look forward to this day of cooperation and friendship.

Please note that we will be closed this Friday in observance of Veteran’s Day, November 11. We will also be closed for Thanksgiving weekend on November 24 & 25. Have a wonderful three day weekend.

Thanks, — Ms. Safarik

From the Manchester Office

Don’t forget, the deadline for Early Re-Enrollment for the 2012-13 school year is Friday, November 18. Re-enrolling before that date secures a school year position for your student next year, and guarantees you this year’s tuition rates. After November 18, the new rates for 2012-13 will go into effect.

ECDS PTO “Hawk Tawk”

PTO Dine-Out at Souplantation

Our November PTO Dine-Out event is at Souplantation from 5:00-8:00 PM next Thursday, November 17. Come and enjoy a great dinner with your family! You’ll be supporting our “PTO Teacher’s Fund” which buys a delicious lunch for all the teachers on Dine-Out day and supports our Teacher Appreciation event in May. Don’t forget to bring a flyer to the Dine-Out event, so our PTO will receive a 20% donation from the proceeds of all the ECDS families who participate.

PTO Family Movie Night & Middle School Movie Night
